Roman Fest

Roman Fest is a brand-new, free, family-friendly arts festival, based in the heart of Old Kilpatrick.

The first-ever edition happened on the 28th of June, 2025. 

Roman Fest is a curated event that invites artists and community members to come together in the creation of the festival. 

As a festival, it playfully and critically questions the area's relationship to the Roman Empire, who arrived in Old Kilpatrick around 2000 years ago and settled their most northerly frontier in this location.

For Roman Fest 2025 we commissioned six artists to create brand new artworks that take this historical context as their starting point.

Following community meetings and several engagement processes we came up with a programme of work that we believe reflects the kinds of communities living in the area, and the kind of art festival they would like to experience.
